I will overwhelm 'credible boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be shown live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.

Former two-time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive disparity - at Miami's venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.

"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

Despite these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically known for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK opponent Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning substantial paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would derail the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast on show, it drove home just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is really proceeding.
